“Yeah, Rashad, I heard you. I’m just not in the mood right now, so can you please just let me be?” I screamed back, dropping my purse on the end table.

Placing little Rashad in his playpen, Rashad moved closer to me, still fuming mad that I wasn’t giving him the attention he craved. With my back turned to him, I felt him snatch me up by my long ponytail tresses damn near dragging me to the next room. As he pulled and tugged, I screamed out, begging and pleading for him to let me go. I could feel my edges being snatched out my scalp as he dragged me by my long hair, tugging, and yanking to cause more damage to my hair.

“Rashad! Rashad, please, baby, please stop. You told me you wouldn’t hit me anymore. You promised you would stop! ”I yelled.

“Nah, fuck that, bitch! You wanna act a fool and ignore me when I tell you time and time again to bring your high-yellow ass home at a reasonable fucking time, so you know what, bitch? You need to learn. You need to learn, La, that I’m not the one to play with,” he answered back, still holding tight to my hair

Whoop! Whoop! Whoop!

Rashad began pounding on the back of my head with a closed fist. I immediately began seeing stars. Making the stupid mistake of trying to free myself, I spun around to face him, trying to get him to let go of the strong grip he had on my hair and was met with his fist straight to my face.

“You see, La? You see what you make me do? Huh, why can’t you listen to me and sit your black ass home and be a decent mother to our son?” he screamed, still pounding on my head.

“Rashad, I’m sorry. I’m sorry, please stop!” I cried out as my head began to ache with pain, and my ears began to ring nonstop.

For the next fifteen minutes, Rashad kicked and punched me in different parts of my body until he grew weak and tired. After the abuse, Rashad let go of the firm grip he had on my hair and threw me back against the large white Christmas tree we just put up the other day. I landed on the tree so hard that the entire Christmas tree fell back, crashing to the ground as each individual ornament shattered on impact.

“Now, get your fucking dumb ass up and clean this shit up, bitch!” Rashad screamed my way as he marched to the kitchen, leaving me to gather myself off the floor.

Reemerging back into the living room, Rashad marched towards me with a glass of Hennessey in his right hand, and the large duffle bag contained the money I just robbed Malik off in his left. Taking a swig of the cognac, he downed the entire glass and placed the empty cup on the table. Opening the duffle, Rashad dug into it and began removing bands of hundred-dollar bills placing them on the coffee table.
